Joe and I started this website in 2013 and have been joint administrators until his untimely death earlier this month. Below I have reprinted a fine tribute to Joe sent out by Janet Flett in her Village News email. Stephen Flett
It is with great sadness that I pass on the news of Joe Kennard's sudden and unexpected death in the early hours of last Saturday morning.
Joe was a true gentleman, always kind, considerate and thoughtful. He played a very active role in village life and contributed greatly to our community. For many years he was our Parish Clerk and when he gave this up he volunteered to take on the role of Booking Secretary for the village hall. Joe also took on a shared responsibility for the parish website. He did all of these tasks with great professionalism and patience.
Joe was never slow to volunteer and many of you will remember him organising games at the Village Show and more recently at the opening of the playing field. He was a man you could rely on, who would quietly get on behind the scenes without seeking recognition or reward.
I am grateful to have known and worked with Joe. He will be greatly missed.
I have spoken to Patricia and had her blessing to pass on this message. She wishes to thank everyone who has sent kind messages.
